This Privacy Policy explains how CALiNGA On-Demand Care LLC (“CALiNGA,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you use the CALiNGA Platform.

Scope of This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to all users of CALiNGA services, including CareSeekers and independent caregivers (“CALiNGAPros”), and covers the CALiNGA Pro and CALiNGA CareSeeker mobile applications, websites, backend systems, and related technologies (collectively, the “CALiNGA Platform”).

This Policy applies to personal information and does not apply to de-identified or aggregated data.

Use of the Platform is also governed by our Terms of Service, which describe CALiNGA as a technology-based referral marketplace and not an employer, staffing agency, home-care agency, or healthcare provider.

Information We Collect

A. Information You Provide

We may collect information you choose to provide, including:

  • Account information: name, email address, phone number, date of birth, profile photo, and mailing address
  • Identity & verification: government-issued ID, selfies, professional credentials, licenses, certifications, and uploaded verification documents
  • Background screening (optional): limited status indicators received from third-party screening providers, with your express consent
  • Live Scan documentation (optional): proof of a completed California Live Scan uploaded voluntarily by a caregiver
  • Care preferences: care needs, schedules, languages, and limited health-related information you voluntarily provide
  • Payments & tax information: payment tokens, receipts, payout details, W-9 / W-8 forms, and IRS 1099 reporting data
  • User-generated content: ratings, reviews, messages, surveys, and uploaded documents (e.g., TB tests, CPR certifications)
  • SMS & communications consent: opt-in status and phone number for transactional or service-related messages

B. Information Collected Automatically

When you use the Platform, we may collect:

  • Location data: approximate or precise location based on device permissions
  • Usage data: bookings, referrals, pricing calculations, feature usage, and activity logs
  • Device data: IP address, device identifiers, operating system, app version, and crash reports
  • Communications metadata: in-app message timestamps and interaction logs

C. Information From Third Parties

We may receive information from:

  • Background-screening providers: limited status indicators only (e.g., clear, consider, completed)
  • CALiNGA does not receive, store, or process fingerprint data or full criminal background reports
  • Payment processors and fraud-prevention services
  • Messaging, email, and OTP providers
  • Public or government sources, where legally permitted

D. Cookies & Similar Technologies

CALiNGA uses cookies, SDKs, pixels, tags, and local-storage technologies to operate and improve the Platform.

How We Share Information

A. Between Users

CareSeekers and caregivers may receive limited profile, scheduling, location, credential-status, and rating information necessary to complete engagements.

B. Service Providers & Partners

We may share information with vendors that support Platform operations, including:

  • Identity-verification and background-screening providers
  • Payment processing and tax-reporting services
  • Messaging, email, and communications providers
  • Analytics, security, and cloud-hosting providers
  • Fraud-prevention and customer-support services

C. Legal & Safety Disclosures

Information may be disclosed to comply with applicable laws, lawful requests, enforce agreements, or protect the rights, safety, or property of users or CALiNGA.

D. Business Transactions

CALiNGA retains personal information only as long as necessary to:

  • Provide Platform services

Uploaded documents and verification data are stored using encrypted cloud infrastructure and are accessible only to authorized users or personnel for trust-and-safety purposes.
